Index Map of Selected Data

Markers on the map are color-coded as follows:

White circle with slash : Closed Area
Yellow marker : NCOM data
Green marker with square: Reason MODIS data
Blue marker : Critical Habitats for fauna
Green marker with diamond : Vegetation

Clicking on a marker displays the bounding box of the data for that marker. Clicking it again or clicking on the bounding box hides the bounding box

OPeNDAP server

OPeNDAP access to raster oceanographic data, including Global and Gulf American and Caribbean NCOM data from NAVO, MODIS Level 3 and Level 4 physical and biological oceanographic data from NRL and MODAS sea surface temperature and sea surface heights is provided here.

Gulf of Mexico Fisheries Site

GIS data for Fisheries Habitats and Managed Areas are available in a variety of formats. Maps are available as .pdf files. Shapefiles (with FGDC metadata) and .kml files for use with Google Earth are also available for some data.

Subaquatic Vegetation Site

Data showing the location of Subaquatic Vegetation is available here as .pdf maps, shapefiles (with FGDC metadata) and .kml files for use in Google Earth applications.

Watersheds

This map and its associated GIS data outline the watershed areas that feed into an area of the northern Gulf of Mexico east of the Sabine River and west of the Suwanee River. Watershed information is available as a .pdf map of the entire area or .kml files or shapefiles with associated metadata.
